Who was Miss Yuki?
Yuki was a beautiful Shiba Inu who was my family's companion for many years.

Yuki's Memories

When Yuki was a puppy, she would put her little puppy foot into the food bowl to prevent it from sliding around. This moment fooled me into thinking, Wow, this dog is a smart girl!
As a Shiba, Yuki was a small-game hunter through and through. Many a bird, mole, and chipmunk met with a horrible fate in our backyard at her talons. But try as she might, squirrels were always too fast for her. In her old age, she lost interest and began a period of peaceful coexistence with her fellow creatures.
If you asked Yuki if she was a big fan of people, she would have said Not even a little bit! But, she is not at all an unfriendly Shiba. According to Michele Welton at YourPurebredPuppy.com:

Shiba Inus are very bright but they have an independent mind of their own and little desire to please you. They can be manipulative, and many are willful and dominant (they want to be the boss) and will make you prove that you can make them do things.

An evil instrument of torture. Makes its appearance most known during Shedding Season.

Birdbath

The optimal place to drink some tasty stagnant water. Second only to the baby pool filled with standing mosquito water behind the bushes.
